Jamps Studio is a London-based design duo that specializes in developing innovative techniques at the intersection of technology, nature, and material research. Founded in 2016 by Martha McGuinn and Tom Pearson, who met while studying at the Royal College of Art, Jamps has collaborated with designers, architects, and cultural institutions to create experimental projects that offer alternative perspectives on processes, sustainability, and environmental agendas.

In early 2021, they expanded their focus to translate some of their research and novel processes into sculptural furniture pieces, with a particular emphasis on utilizing scrap and recycled materials. The Jamps aesthetic is a fusion of the pair’s unique tastes and sensibilities. Their processes are rooted in experimentation rather than strict adherence to conventional design principles, allowing them to explore different aspects of their identity as designers. “Nothing should ever be prescriptive.”

All of their work is meticulously handcrafted and produced in-house at their workshops in Greenwich, often in small editions or as one-of-a-kind pieces. Recent collaborations have included projects with the British Architecture Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Marguerite Humeau, Nebbia Works, Sam Jacob Studio, Yinka Ilori, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
