Chus Burés
Chus Burés is an artist and designer specializing in jewelry, known for his whimsical and inventive collections as well as show-stopping statement pieces. His designs play with juxtapositions and elude easy descriptors– mundane vs extraordinary, minimalist vs maximalist, high vs low. Though born in Barcelona, Burés became a prolific figure in Spain’s Movida Madrileña, the progressive creative movement that erupted in 1980s Madrid after the country’s long dictatorship. His work has been exhibited globally, including at the 44th Venice Biennale, and he has collaborated with major creative forces such as filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and artists Louise Bourgeois, Carmen Herrera, Santiago Sierra, and Miquel Barceló, among many others.
