Based in London, Killick’s practice includes painting, sculpture, spatial interventions, and installations, experimenting with formal ideas of shape, volume and monumentality while imbuing them with unmistakable humanity. Influenced by Arte Povera, he gravitates towards everyday materials, such as wood and plaster, that easily expose the processes of their making. The idea for his shelving units came from building plinths to exhibit his sculptures. He likes the way these structured, universal forms engage with the informality and unpredictability of domestic spaces.
